My name is Sue. I’m a baby boomer. Notice how I hint at my age without having to be specific?
I started my life in Buffalo, NY, and moving from place to place would be par for the course, as Dad was transferred to different jobs. As a result I’ve seen a lot of our beautiful country, and Canada.
I’ve always been blessed with artistic ability. I can’t claim a formal training in
art, but I have taken courses on many topics in art studies. Personally, I don’t
get too caught up in the lah-dee-dah of degrees, although it would be fun to have one. I believe any ability I have is a gift from God, and so boasting doesn’t seem to belong.
I’ve lived in Kentucky for about 30 years. That many years ago I was a young, single mom, trying to make a living and raise my son. I was blessed with a great son, Adam, for whom I am very thankful. And as he has grown into a fine young man, I am even more grateful and proud.
Because I could work well with my hands and have a good eye for details, I found work
in the field of dentistry. At first as a dental assistant, and later I went to school to be a dental lab technician.
I was most blessed to eventually get a job with the Veteran’s Hospital in their Dental Service. Though I made crowns and bridges, primarily I made dentures for the Vets.
In late ’96 I noticed that something wasn't right. Folks were zooming past me as we walked from the parking structure, and I was walking as fast as I could. Then I started having trouble standing up from a chair and the worst was not being able to breath when I laid down. Sort of makes it hard to sleep.
The Doctors ran loads of tests to try
and figure out what was going on with me. Finally, a very bright young Doctor diagnosed me with Myasthenia Gravis, a neuro-muscular, auto-immune disease.
I was forced to take early retirement, because MG gets worse before it gets better. But
during it all the Lord kept me in His watch-care and blessed me in so many ways.
As I slowly recovered (years) I found that I was too ill, and considered too old to be competitive in the market place. And that’s when I started selling on eBay! At first I
started by painting “pet rocks” and eventually I began sculpting my claypups.

When you're on the rocks, paint animals!

Above all I thank the Lord for His mercy and provision and His precious gift of eternal life.
